The South Dakota Grasslands Initiative is seeking South Dakota landowners and operators who represent a variety of backgrounds and operation types to share their perspectives on conservation programs, and how they relate to their needs. Selected interview participants will receive a $50 stipend for participation in a one-hour, virtual, one-on-one interview.

The South Dakota Grasslands Initiative is a collaborative network of producers, individuals, and organizations focused on supporting the grasslands for South Dakotans. These partners want to learn from individuals like yourself so the tools they offer can better meet the needs of landowners, farmers, and ranchers. The Grasslands Initiative wants to hear from you, especially if you have little to no experience utilizing tools such as technical assistance, financial assistance, land use contracts, or certification programs.
If you are interested in being considered for the interviews, please fill out this interest form: https://bit.ly/SDGIForm. If you are selected to participate, you will be contacted to schedule an interview via Zoom or over the phone and compensated for your time with $50 after your interview is complete. Interviews will be conducted by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's Bureau of Sociological Research (BOSR) in early 2025. The information provided in the interest form will remain confidential, and the information you share in the interview will not be connected to anything that could identify you.
Thank you for your consideration! Your thoughts, concerns, and ideas about working lands programs are extremely important to this project, and your insight will help us improve our delivery of programs moving forward.
If you have any questions about the purpose of these interviews, or your involvement in them, please don't hesitate to reach out to Laura Kahler at (605)-840-8537 or laura.grass@sdconservation.net.
